Ostia Antica or Ancient Ostia is a small seaport close to Rome. The ancient city is a very interesting example of Roman urban planning similar to Pompeii. Ostia Antica is just 27 kilometers from Rome and is reachable by car or by local train. Ancient Ostia is a beautiful archeological Roman garden where we can enjoy a pleasant walk in the fresh air. In Ostia Antica we can visit the old necropolis of Rome, the wonderful Roman theatre, the well know Mithraeum Temple, and the central market place where Romans sold wheat, different foods and precious marble imported from Egypt.
